CEMS Newsletter Advertisement

CEMS will run a business card sized advertisement in our monthly newsletter for 6 months for $180.00. Larger sizes go up in price accordingly.

If you would like to advertise, please email your ad or business card to admin@coems.org and follow the payment instructions below. If you cannot scan and email, then please mail your business card to the CEMS PO Box listed below. We will scan the card and place it in the newsletter for you.

CEMS Luncheon Sponsorship

Sponsors for a CEMS lunch meeting are provided a table where brochures or other materials can be displayed. The cost to sponsor a CEMS meeting is $30 for members and $85 for non-members. The non-member rate includes a one-year CEMS individual membership. Please send your request to sponsor a lunch meeting to admin@coems.org.

Topic: Waste Impoundments Regulated Under Section 9 of the Solid Waste Regulations

Speaker: Doug Eagleton, PE, CDPHE Solid Waste Permitting Unit

Doug Eagleton is the lead engineer for Section 9 of the Solid Waste Regulations and has been involved with internal and external stakeholders in the development of guidance surrounding Section 9.

One (1) CLE is available for this luncheon.

Scholarship Awards

The Scholarship Committee organizes the annual scholarship program for the Society.
Each year, the Society provides three scholarships for collegiate candidates with
studies focused in the environmental science, engineering, or law arenas.
The annual scholarship coordination, including development and distribution of the scholarship
application, is lead by the Scholarship Committee. Typically, the annual scholarship
application is distributed in the November and applications are due in February of the

CEMS is Pleased to Announce this Year's Scholarship Recipients

CEMS received many applications for scholarships this year. We are pleased to offer scholarships to each of the following students:

· Matthew Ribarich, CU-Boulder, undergraduate double major in Environmental Studies and Ecology/Evolutionary Biology
· Kyle Shimabuku, CU-Boulder, MS in Environmental Engineering
· Corina Hach, CU Law School, studying environmental law/water law

The links below are each winner's application essays. Winners will be at upcoming CEMS luncheons to receive their checks.

Students are required to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Colorado university or college. Students must be studying engineering, geology, environmental sciences, law, or another field in which they may address environmental issues, and must intend to work in an environmental field.
